GOOD SAMARITAN RULE APPLIES

If you happen upon an injured participant it is your duty to assist them and inform the next available aid station of their condition and location.

OPEN ROADS AND TRAILS

Participants acknowledge by their signature below that all roads are open to traffic, agree to obey all traffic laws, to always ride defensively and that all trails are open to other users, including livestock and wildlife.

RAIN OR SHINE POLICY

This event will take place rain or shine, unless there is severe weather that is dangerous to participants or damages the courses.

Bike Course: From the mass start the bike course climbs 480 feet in 2.23 miles on a dirt road, allowing riders to sort themselves by ability. The bike course is marked with orange arrows and continues straight at the crest while the run course, marked with yellow arrows turns right. On the bike course a 0.93 mile dirt road descent follows, before the course leaves the dirt road and crosses the creek, entering the single track section. The far right approach to the creek crossing is usually the best choice. The climb up Burgh is 300 feet in 0.53 miles to the high point of the course, followed by winding single track descents of Bumper, Cody’s Loop and Sodbuster, punctuated with a few climbs to keep you alert. This section is lined with wild flowers and a few views of the Tetons. Since this single track section totals 3.27 miles please be considerate and move over for an overtaking rider. Following the single track, FS 248 offers a track and a half of passing opportunity in 0.44 miles with a climb of 160 feet before a right turn onto FS 140. The section on FS 140 is 2 track offering 0.55 miles of passing opportunity before a left turn onto Bovine and the 1.41 mile descent down to a short section of FS140 and the paved road. The paved Horseshoe Canyon Road completes the loop with 0.8 miles and 110 feet of elevation gain. The trail surface is mostly hard packed dirt.

Run Course: The run course, marked with yellow arrows, follows the bike course for the first 2.23 miles where it turns right at the Idaho Ridge Junction and climbs another 348 feet to the ridge line where you will be treated to continuous views of the Tetons for the next mile along the crest of the ridge before descending 852 feet back to the Horseshoe Canyon Road and closing the loop .8 miles to the TH.
